1. What we collect, when and why

• Name and mobile number — when you request a price (OTP verification). To confirm you are a genuine customer, keep fake and spam requests out, and contact you about your quote and pickup.
• Pickup address — when you book a pickup. To schedule and complete the doorstep pickup.
• Device details (brand, model, condition, accessories, lenses) — when you request a price. To work out the estimate and prepare the inspection.
• Serial number — at physical inspection, if the sale goes ahead. To record the transfer of ownership against your name and protect against stolen or fraudulent goods (section 7 of the Terms).
• Payment details (UPI ID or bank account) — at the time of payment. To pay you for the device you sell to us.
• Website usage data (cookies, analytics — section 5) — automatically while you browse. To understand how the site is used and improve it.

We collect your mobile number specifically to confirm you are a genuine customer (by OTP) and to reach you about your quote. That is the purpose of the OTP step, and the number is not used for unrelated marketing without your consent.

2. How we use your data

Only to: produce quotes and process your sale to us; schedule and complete pickups; pay you; keep transaction records for accounting, GST and legal compliance; and prevent fraud (including checking that a device is not stolen or encumbered, per the Terms).

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with payment processors (to complete your payment), our pickup personnel (to complete the pickup), and government or law-enforcement authorities where required by law (for example if a device is reported stolen). Your request is handled by the same SYG team that runs sellyourgadget.in, and your quote is stored in that team's lead system.

3. How long we keep it

We keep quote and transaction data as long as reasonably necessary to complete the transaction, respond to any dispute and meet accounting and tax record-keeping duties under Indian law (generally up to 8 years for financial records). Data from a quote that does not lead to a sale is kept only as long as needed to follow up with you, after which it may be deleted or anonymised on request.

4. Your rights — access, correction and deletion

You may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, and ask for deletion, subject to our right to keep what the law requires (for example completed-transaction records for tax). Email support@sellyourgadget.in or contact the Grievance Officer (section 7) with your registered mobile number. We respond within 48 hours and act on valid requests within 30 days.

5. Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and, when we run advertising, Google Ads measurement, to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our advertising. These tools may set cookies in your browser and collect information such as pages visited and approximate location (from your IP address). You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings; disabling them may affect some site features.

6. Consent

By requesting a price, submitting your mobile number for OTP verification or booking a pickup, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data as described here. You may withdraw consent for future contact at any time by writing to support@sellyourgadget.in, without affecting anything already done with your consent.
