The EOS C100 (2012) is the smallest body in the first Cinema EOS generation: a Super 35mm sensor, the DIGIC DV III processor, the EF mount, 1080p AVCHD recording to two SD card slots, Canon Log, built-in ND filters of 2, 4 and 6 stops, a removable top handle with two XLR inputs, a 3.5-inch screen, an eyepiece viewfinder and the BP-955 battery. Some C100 bodies had the Dual Pixel autofocus feature upgrade fitted by Canon; say so on the call if yours did. The C100s we buy come from wedding and documentary shooters moving to a 4K body.
What moves the resale value of a Canon C100
A cinema body is graded on its working parts first: both SD slots, the ND filter wheel, the XLR inputs on the handle, the HDMI port, the viewfinder eyepiece, the screen hinge and the EF mount ring, then the paint and the rubber. In this price band the battery keeps the largest share of the original-item amounts, then the charger, then the bill and the box; the bag keeps the least. Age is asked in five bands counted from the bill date, and a 2012 body always falls in the last band, a single fixed step.

Questions sellers ask about the Canon C100
Does the C100 need a shutter count or an hours figure for the quote?
No. The form asks for the grade, the age band and the original items only. A cinema body counts operating hours rather than shutter actuations, and the representative checks that it records, plays back and switches ND filters at pickup instead of reading an hours figure.
I no longer have the top handle with the XLR inputs. Is the C100 still accepted?
Yes. The body is graded on its own and the handle is not one of the five original items, so the on-screen number does not change. Mention the missing handle on the call so the representative knows what to expect at pickup.
