The D5500 (2015) sat between the D5300 and the D5600: the same 24.2-megapixel sensor without a low-pass filter, but a lighter carbon-fibre body, a deeper grip and the first touch screen on a Nikon DSLR, a fully articulating one. It has Wi-Fi but drops the GPS of the D5300. Many were sold in India as single or double kits, which is why its lens list runs to more than thirty rows.
