The first A7S was the low-light specialist of the original A7 family: a 12.2-megapixel full-frame sensor with very large pixels, ISO up to 409,600, S-Log2 and clean 4K output over HDMI to an external recorder. Internal recording is Full HD. It has no in-body stabilisation and uses the NP-FW50 battery. Wedding and event videographers in India bought many of them, and those are the bodies that now come to us.
What moves the resale value of a Sony Alpha A7s
Video bodies are used hard, so grade is the main lever. Look at the HDMI port (it carried the 4K signal, so it was plugged in constantly), the hot shoe, the rear screen and the grip rubber. Age is almost always the last band. The original charger and battery count as original items; third-party batteries do not, although they can come with the camera. A body that has lived on a rig usually has tripod-plate marks on the base; that alone does not drop it a grade.

My A7S was used only for video with an external recorder. Is it still Good grade?
Grade is about the body itself: marks, screen, ports and everything working. A rig-used body with clean screen and ports can still be Good. Pick the grade that matches the body, not the use.
Do you buy the A7S body without any lens?
Yes. The body is priced on its own. Leave every lens unticked and the quote is for the body alone.
