The EOS M5 (2016) was the first EF-M body with a built-in viewfinder: a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor, the DIGIC 7 processor, Dual Pixel autofocus, a 2.36-million-dot electronic viewfinder, a touch screen that tilts up and down, 1080p video, Wi-Fi with NFC and Bluetooth, a single SD slot and the LP-E17 battery. It was sold body-only and with the EF-M 15-45mm or 18-150mm, and it reaches us from owners stepping up to an EOS R-series body.
What moves the resale value of a Canon M5 Mirrorless
Look at the eyecup and the viewfinder glass, the screen hinge, the front and rear dials, the grip rubber and the EF-M mount ring; the M5 has a DSLR-style grip, so the rubber at the thumb rest shows use first. In this price band the battery keeps the largest share of the original-item amounts, then the charger, then the bill and the box; the bag keeps the least. Age is asked in five bands counted from the bill date; a 2016 body almost always falls in the last band, which is a single fixed step.

Questions sellers ask about the Canon M5 Mirrorless
I only have a third-party charger for the M5. Do I tick Original charger?
No. The form means the charger that came in the box with this camera. Leave it unticked and mention the third-party charger on the call; it is not treated as missing at pickup when you were upfront about it.
Is the M5 or the M50 the newer camera?
The M50 from 2018 is newer and has its own row on this site. The M5 is the 2016 body with the larger grip and the front dial around the shutter button; check the name on the base plate.
